it was amazing...

So Isaac and I were out all morning and part of the afternoon. We went to Target (have I ever mentioned how much I ♥ Target) then to lunch and then swung by the grocery store. Ike was a trooper!!! On the way home from our last errand he fell asleep as it was 1/2 hour past his regular nap time. I thought to myself, "oh great, he'll sleep a few minutes in the car and then I won't be able to get him back down for a nap." Especially because as I was strapping him into the car seat I smelled the makings of a dirty diaper. Well, we got home, I unloaded the groceries and our things from Target and Isaac remained asleep. He even stayed asleep as I carried him to the back of the house. I stuck him in the crib because I had drank several glasses of water at lunch, and then came back to change him and put him down. He slept. He slept throughout the whole process. Taking his shoes off, taking his sweater off, changing his diaper, snapping his shirt and overalls back together and putting him back in the crib. He slept! and he's still asleep! It was a first and it was amazing. I'd go in there and take a picture for this post but I don't want to push my luck. I'm off to relax for a few minutes...yay!

Arctic Blast On Its Way

So last night Scott and I thought we were being so prepared and wrapped all the plants that we want to save during this COLD COLD front headed our way today. Well, it rained all night! I have blankets and sheets galore waiting for their turn in the dryer so I can cover everything all over again once Isaac falls asleep. Speaking of that, I couldn't get Isaac settled to sleep just now; he seemed uncomfortable, so I put him in his crib awake. This almost never works! I'm watching him right now pace back and forth in his crib. I've tried to take a picture of him on the monitor, can you make him out?

He is so tired yet he's holding out for, well, I don't know what he's holding out for. We'll see how long I can hold out until I go back in there. I love rocking him to sleep and I know he's not going to let me for much longer so I'm taking advantage now.

Update: So I finally went in at 2:55 - Isaac literally did a dance when I came in. I held him for 10 minutes while he yelled. (i'd say he was crying but there were no tears) It was like a switch was turned, sleep came on out of no where. He's out cold right now. I'm off to cover the plants...again.

Sleep

We are trying to get Isaac to sleep through his middle of the night feeding and it may be working right now. Here is how it's going...

He wakes up at 3:45am this morning. I take him with me to the kitchen to make his bottle and he falls asleep by the time it's ready. We get back to the bedroom and he is still asleep so I put him back in his crib. He stays asleep! I'm thinking he'll be up as soon as I get back in bed but he sleeps for another half hour. This is good. Then I hear him again. I'm thinking he must be starving by now so I get up and go in his room. I go ahead and give him his binkie so I can put his bib on him without him waking Scott. HE FALLS ASLEEP AGAIN!!! (I know I'm jinxing this as I write) This was about 10 minutes ago. I should go back to bed and sleep but now I sit and wait.

Jinxed...I hear Isaac...wish me luck!

so I'm back. it's 9:15 in the morning. Isaac ate and went back to sleep until 8:00!!! I think Christmas came early. Now the true test will be tonight.
